I've always loved reading. I still have fond memories of going to the BookMobile with my family to check out books. I started reading Alfred Hitchcock books, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Louis L'Amour and Agatha Christy. I discovered the joys of science-fiction from a friend. I read every pre-moonwalk short-story I could find. I read sci-fi novels by authors like Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury and Douglas Adams. I went on to read books by Fyodor Dostoevsky, Franz Kafka, Hermann Hesse, Joseph Conrad, Ernest Hemingway, and Jack Kerouac. On a more contemporary level, I've read books by Will Self, Jeff Noon, Janice Galloway, Iain Banks, Douglas Coupland, Michael Talbot and Michio Kaku. I couldn't possibly name them all, but as you can see, I have a large range of genres I've enjoyed and still do.
I've written all my life, but never took it serious until I sat down and started writing what would turn out to be my first novel. I've written several science-fiction short-stories and have several short stories, essays and poems published online. I came up for the idea of my first novel when I had created a character for some short writings. I liked the character so much, I thought she would be a great main character for a story. I jotted down the general idea for the book and named my first novel Orange. That same character, Demen, was carried over to my second novel Fall On Me. With encouragement from readers who enjoyed my books and characters, I have decided to create a series using the characters from Orange and the sequel Fall On Me. It is called the Demen Series and I have already jotted down outlines for a couple more books in the series.
When I write my books, I will show you that I'm a firm believer that we all have inner strength, but dont always tap into it until its almost too late. I am currently writing a book outside the series but will continue this underlying message in it as I do all my writing.
